Time and time again, I recommend that everyone have a portable power station or backup power solution handy. It doesn’t matter if you live in a traditional family home, an RV, or a cabin, or if you’re off-grid somewhere in a remote location — I’m jealous if you are — you need power. You’ll need it to power small appliances for cooking, to charge your phone or devices to stay in contact with friends and family, or just about anything else electronically-inclined. A power station gives you the option to charge from anywhere, anytime. Often, they have super convenient features like being able to charge the station with solar power by connecting a solar panel. Today, Target has the Jackery Explorer 300 Plus portable power station on sale for $240, normally $300, which saves you $60. It has a 78,00 mAh battery capacity with fast-charging support, smart app controls, and much more.

Why the Jackery Explorer 300 Plus portable power station would be good to have

This power station has a 78,00 mAh battery capacity. That’s enough to charge most smartphones 25 to 30 times. You can also charge most laptops three or four times, keep a CPAP machine going for up to four nights, or power a small refrigerator for about four or five hours. Of course, it will also power up lighting, charge other electronics like drones or game consoles, power a coffee machine, and more. Plus, with fast-charging support, it only takes two hours to get the station fully charged through an outlet. It takes about 9.5 hours to charge with a single Jackery SolarSaga 40-watt solar panel.

Most importantly, it’s lightweight and portable. It weighs only 8.27 pounds so it would be easy to lug around a campsite. Plus, it has a built-in handle. Smart app controls through Jackery’s app allow you to check real-time charging status. You can also configure various settings in the app, as well. Don’t worry. You don’t have to use the app if you don’t want to or don’t want to waste your phone’s battery.

You also get several multifunctional outlets, including one pure sine wave AC outlet up to 300 watts, two 100-watt type C PD ports, a car port, and a 15-watt USB-A port. With all those ports you can charge up to five smart devices simultaneously. Moreover, since it’s electric and produces no emissions, you can use this power station indoors and out. In fact, it’s excellent to have during a storm or intermittent outage. You can keep all your important gear charged and powered up.

Normally $300, Target is offering the Jackery Explorer 300 Plus portable power station for $240 today, saving you $60.

More BLUETTI Black Friday deals for home power backup and more — Save over $200
BLUETTI Charger 1 visualization of it connected to power station in back of jeep

Continuing coverage of BLUETTI Black Friday deals, including one of its latest portable power stations the Elite 200 V2, we have a few more callouts worth taking a look at. Where before the main focus was home battery backup or a solid portable power option for off-grid, these deals are smaller in scope. The BLUETTI AC180 solar portable power station, for instance, features a 1,152-watt-hour capacity, which is not nearly as massive as what you get with the Elite 200 V2, but that's the point. It's manageable, has 11 outlets to power multiple devices simultaneously, and has a built-in MPPT charge controller and 500-watt solar input for fast charging via solar. It's best for use on the go or on the road, just like the BLUETTI Charger 1.

Enough about the gear, let's talk about those deal prices. As an aside, right now you can use code DT01 for an extra 5% discount on top of all sale prices. That code is exclusive to Digital Trends readers and applicable to all products on BLUETTI's website.

Something I love to do, every chance I get, is to share my experiences with select products, especially on deal posts and sales features. Why? Because that gives people a much better idea of what they can expect if they were to take advantage of those offers. For better or worse, you gain something, and that's precisely what I plan to do with BLUETTI's latest Elite 200 V2 portable power station. You see, I happen to have one in my possession which I acquired recently. And a good thing, too, with all of the hurricanes that have been hitting our area -- I live near Tampa, Florida.

Thanks to BLUETTI Black Friday deals and discounts, that have just dropped, there are several power stations on sale, including the Elite 200 V2. It's a 2,600-watt and 2,073.6-watt-hour power station, which is frankly a massive capacity for something this size, that can power up to nine devices simultaneously -- I've tested that too. Understandably, you probably care more about the prices and discounts so let's get into it.

Home Depot’s “Build Your Own” Black Friday power tool deal is its best-kept secret
Home Depot consumer

Covering cordless power tools during Black Friday is surprisingly fascinating. Of the Black Friday deals I've covered so far this year, both Black Friday cordless drill deals and Black Friday power tool deals have been included included in my retinue, alongside a host of similar articles for our "brother" site The Manual.

There's one deal bundle among them all, however, that I've been utterly fascinated by this whole time. It's what I'm calling Home Depot's "build your own" power tool deal. This intriguing offering, which feels under advertised by Home Depot, seemingly inverts what we think of when we think of power tool deals. Instead of feeling stuck buying buying batteries separately — with a drill, with a big bundle, or with the lucky random battery — you're able (now) to build our deal and get everything you need, at a flat price. This means you can get the exact tool you want, and all the batteries you want with it, for as low as $99. Check it out yourself by tapping the button below, or keep reading to see what makes this deal so unique, how to shop it, and a few suggestions as to what you should buy.
