Hank Williams Jr. and his wife, Brandi Williams, were friends for two decades before tying the knot.

The couple got engaged in May 2023 — a little over a year after Hank’s wife of 32 years, Mary Jane Thomas, died suddenly from a collapsed lung punctured during elective surgery in March 2022. Hank was also previously married to Gwen Yeargain from 1971 to 1977 and Becky White from 1977 to 1983.

Hank has yet to speak publicly about his marriage to Brandi, though they became Instagram official in January 2023 with a post on the country singer's account, which showed the two decked out in camo gear while hunting. “Sweethearts, Hank & Brandi,” the caption read.

The pair had a long history of friendship before they exchanged wedding vows, first crossing paths in 2003. While Hank and Brandi keep their relationship private, they enjoy sharing photos on social media of themselves hunting and fishing together.

She has three kids

Before marrying Hank, Brandi — who is from Tuscaloosa, Ala. — was previously wed to Jason Irvin, an Alabama-based artist and musician, per Tuscaloosa News.

Brandi and Jason married in December 2005. Though it’s unclear when they split, they welcomed three children together: their oldest daughter Alexis, son JB, and youngest daughter Ava, according to Jason’s Instagram posts.

All three children were at Hank and Brandi’s wedding in September 2023, per a photo posted on Brandi’s Facebook page.

Hank also has children from his previous three marriages.

He welcomed his first child, son Hank Williams III, with his first wife, Gwen, followed by daughters Holly Williams and Hilary Williams with his second wife, Becky. Hank and Brandi got engaged on Mother's Day on May 14, 2023. They didn't publicly share the news of their engagement until a few months later.

On Sept. 4, The Pure Hank Radio Show Facebook page posted a since-deleted photo of Hank with his arms around Brandi, alongside the caption, “The newly engaged outlaw country music and southern rock legend Hank Williams Jr. alongside his beautiful and lovely fiancé[e] Brandi.”

They married in Alabama

Hank and Brandi wed in a small ceremony in Alabama on Sept. 9, 2023.

The official Hank Williams Jr. Facebook account shared details of the celebration a few days later — which happened less than a week after the couple publicly announced their engagement. According to the post, the ceremony took place at the Enon Baptist Church in Banks, Ala., “in front of a small group of family and friends,” followed by a reception at Kendall Hall in Troy, Ala.

The duo also shared a photo of their wedding on Hank’s Instagram. The post showed Hank and Brandi at the church altar — decorated with white and green flowers — with Brandi wearing a sparkling white gown and holding a large bouquet and Hank sporting a black suit and sunglasses. “Mr. and Mrs. Hank Williams Jr.,” the caption read.

At the reception, Brandi also wore a white cowboy hat bedazzled with the words “Mrs. Bocephus” — referring to Hank’s nickname, Bocephus — according to a TikTok video posted by the wedding’s hair and makeup artist, Tori Howard.

Howard also posted a photo on Instagram of the couple walking hand-in-hand down the aisle.

They hunt and fish together

While Hank and Brandi don’t share much of their personal lives on social media, they upload photos of themselves hunting and fishing together.

On the Fourth of July in 2023, Hank’s official Instagram account posted pictures of Hank and Brandi fishing.

The first photo featured Hank in sunglasses and a bucket hat, holding up a fish and the second showed Brandi with a fish of her own — and her engagement ring visible on her left hand.

The month after their wedding, in October 2023, Hank’s official Facebook page shared a snapshot of the pair hunting. “Great morning in Montana,” the caption read. Brandi posted the same photo on her Facebook.
