Zelensky says he’d step down ‘if it brings peace’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday that he would step down from the presidency if it meant achieving a lasting peace in Ukraine.

“If to achieve peace, you really need me to give up my post, I’m ready,” Zelensky said in remarks in Kyiv, speaking at a government forum marking three years since Russia launched its invasion of his country.

He suggested NATO membership would need to be on the table.

Asked whether he’d trade his office for peace, Zelensky told a journalist, “I can trade it for NATO.”

Zelensky’s remarks come days after President Trump called the Ukrainian president a “dictator without elections” who was doing a “terrible job.” Ukrainian law prevents elections when under martial law, as the country currently is.

Gun crime in London rose by 70 per cent in the last year with a huge 120 per cent increase in Gloucestershire alongside a 17 per cent rise nationally.

Analysis of Home Office open crime data from the first two quarters of 2021-2022 and 2022-23 show that there were 4384 gun offences logged across England and Wales this year.

By contrast, knife possession across the capital dropped by 13% - although stats show there were still 1281 incidences.

Gun crime was also prevalent across other parts of the country including in the West Midlands which recorded a 39 per cent rise on the previous years figures.

The data showed that principally higher instances of gun crime were linked to towns and cities.

The rise in gun violence in cities was just one of a number of worrying spikes in violent crimes committed in the past year.

MailOnline analysed crime data for ten offences committed across England and Wales and compared rates to those recorded one year earlier.

The data showed that a host of crimes including violent disorder, knife offences, car theft and robbery are on the up.

The research found that knife possession rose by 15% in the space of a year.

Theft of vehicles also rose by 31% with a shocking 64,385 cars reported stolen.

 

Yeah, that's not surprising to hear.... Zelensky has stolen a lot of money now and he has bank accounts in Switzerland and the Cayman Islands. He has set himself up real good and will live the good life on the money he stole from the US taxpayers for the rest of his pathetic life....

The European Union committed suicide by unconditionally supporting (and arming) Ukraine in the war against Russia. Now Trump is negotiating peace with Russia alone and abandoning NATO, Ukraine and Zelensky. Europe is bankrupt after spending a lot of money on this stupid war.
