TO ANSWER THE QUESTION...I WOULD LIVE IN OR SET UP A SUMMER RESIDENCE IN WINNIPEG. IT HAS THE CLEANEST AIR AND WATER, VERY VERY SCENIC, TONS OF OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES, GREAT PLACE FOR A FAMILY TO RELAX AND ENJOY THE SUMMER MONTHS.

That is something I would deal with when the time came. Then i would have to weigh the pro's and con's. Debate the time and effort, what would I be sacrificing, what would I be gaining.

well no kidding but these things do happen. It happened to me and after 2 years of going back and forth I almost moved.

 

I know where I wouldn't live....

Not to mention the nights curled up in front of the fire or the frolicking in the wildflowers of summer with a certain beauty.

 

Oh yes, it's a "mutual decision".. now the question is, which of the two in this "mutual decision" is going to give up their familiar haunts, their social groups, their associates to go live with another?

And I know the "thrill" of living is taking risks...I've taken enough risks in my life. Damned near killed me on many an occasion.

I do know if I was forced to move it would have to be somewhere that gets snow..

Hmm.. or not. I know what I meant. Perhaps I am not the romantic that is expected. I am content where I am and cannot think of anything bar some natural disaster that would cause me to move.
If others are willing to relocate for the sake of love and romance, good for them.
I happen to like where I am despite the crap spring. I simply have to travel 700-800 kms north of here and be in the Sub arctic Tundra, the Boreal Forest, with no one else around.

 

Sounds like you're an honest man that is content in his life...that makes you more of an exception than the rule these days. More power to you. I can appreciate your view as I find myself most at peace when floating down a stream with a fishing rod in my hand and civilization and concrete no part of my thought process.

 

I have found more "civilization" in a man floating down the creek with a fishing pole in his hand than being surrounded by a concrete jungle inhabited by barbarians in expensive suits pretending to be "civilized".
